In cold blood

In cold blood

Our Review

It's no surprise that In Cold Blood is one of the author's most successful titles. Not only is it very well written, but the fact of knowing it is a real case (as Truman even uses transcripts of conversations) makes it even more captivating. The most interesting part is how he handles the emotions of the "characters." He makes us empathize with the murderers, understanding who they are and what their motivation was, without justifying their atrocity.

This is a novel about a horrible crime, straddling fiction and non-fiction. Truman Capote dons the boots of an investigator and conducts a meticulous study of a quadruple murder in Holcomb, a town in central United States.

Do you like true crime documentaries? If you are a fan of the True Crime genre, this is the book where it all began. Truman Capote not only narrates a real crime, but delves into the minds of the murderers with a psychological depth that will chill you to the bone.
