Anecdotes of Impressionism (Illustrated)

Anecdotes of Impressionism (Illustrated)

Our review

There are two ways to approach art: the academic and the passionate. This book is, fortunately, of the latter kind. For us, Impressionism Anecdotes is like sneaking into 19th-century Parisian cafes and listening to the gossip of Monet, Degas, and company. It's not a manual; it's a mosaic of lives, rivalries, failures, and brilliance.

Discover the more human and unknown side of the painters who changed the history of painting. Did you know that Manet and Degas almost came to blows over a painting? Or how Monet struggled against poverty while painting his masterpieces? Carlos Mengotti guides us through the scandals and curiosities of the artistic movement.

What we like most is that it teaches you to look at paintings with different eyes, to see the imperfect human behind the genius. A delightful and addictive read. Ideal for dipping into.
