Murder on the Orient Express (Ages 14+)

Murder on the Orient Express (Ages 14+)

Our review

It is the perfect puzzle on a train. Who doesn't know the famous book, turned movie, Murder on the Orient Express?

For us, this is the masterpiece of the queen of crime. Agatha Christie locks a group of strangers on a luxury train trapped by snow and gives us Hercule Poirot's most ingenious and claustrophobic case.

We recommend this pocket edition because it is the ideal travel companion (although we hope your journey is calmer than the one in the book). It is an intelligent, elegant read with a final resolution that, even after years, still leaves the reader speechless.

A classic that cannot be missing from any respectable library.

Synopsis

In the middle of winter, the luxurious Orient Express travels across Europe, but its journey is interrupted by a heavy snowstorm that leaves the train isolated on the tracks in Yugoslavia. The next morning, there is one less passenger: an American millionaire is found stabbed twelve times in his compartment, locked from the inside. With the train stopped and the killer still on board, Detective Hercule Poirot must interrogate the peculiar passengers—a Russian princess, an English colonel, a governess...—to discover who did it before the killer strikes again.

About the Author

Agatha Christie (1890-1976) is, indisputably, the most widely read mystery novelist in history. The Guinness Book of World Records ranks her as the best-selling novelist of all time, surpassed only by the Bible and Shakespeare. Creator of icons such as Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, she defined the rules of the modern detective genre with her "locked-room" plots and impossible final twists.
