Blackwater VI: Rain

Blackwater VI: Rain

Our review

Contrary to what it may seem, this is not a saga that will open your eyes to the world with a shocking ending. It's a series to be read slowly, which allows you to avoid reader's block and relax by reading something familiar. Therefore, we consider these to be great books as an interlude between more intense works. Don't be focused on what will happen at the end! (in that case, you might be disappointed).

Blackwater is a saga of six suspense books with touches of horror. It has a small format that resembles old serialized books, so you can lose yourself in the mysteries of the Perdido river wherever you are. It's for you if you like the immersive stories of Stephen King and the character-rich plots of Ken Follett. A perfect combination to let yourself go.

You can read it perfectly in 6 months, with patience and enjoyment.

Book details

Synopsis of "Rain" (Volume VI)

In Blackwater: Rain, the last book in the series, the time comes for everything to disappear. The characters who started as young people with their whole lives ahead of them are now elders giving way to a new Caskey generation. A cycle and a story close.

Saga Order

It is important that you read the installments in order. This series consists of 6 books:

  1. The Flood

  2. The Levee

  3. The House

  4. The War

  5. The Fortune

  6. Rain

A great thing is that each volume includes a brief summary of the previous book, so you can quickly pick up the thread!

About the Author

Michael McDowell (Alabama, 1950-1999) dedicated his life to writing, publishing books under different pseudonyms. It's not surprising that he was a friend of Stephen King, as his narrative has common points. He was also a friend of Tim Burton, with whom he collaborated on film scripts. He was not afraid to admit that his writing was very commercial and he was always proud of his work. He died at only 49 years old from HIV.
