Exquisite corpse

Exquisite corpse

Our review

We had doubts about this book because we read opinions that the ending was disappointing. And yet, we found a novel that is not only terrifying but incredibly well-told. However, it's not a thriller! It's one of the best modern dystopias we've read, on par with works like Emilio Bueso's Cenital. The author manages to create an atmosphere that captivates and transforms into a dark tale. For us, it's a ten out of ten.

The premise is brutal: one day, due to a virus affecting animals, the government approves the processing of human meat. There are farms of human beings dedicated to food. Agustina Bazterrica manages to create a science fiction novel that impacts you while making you think. Her style is polished and delicate, even though the description of breeding and slaughter is truly terrifying.

Winner of the Clarín Novel Prize and the Ladies of Horror Fiction award, it is a dystopia for readers with a strong stomach. Do you dare to read it?
