One Hundred Years of Solitude (limited edition)

Our review

A thrilling and addictive story. The style of this novel is brutal, as is the magic contributed by those touches of magical realism. Gabo reuses everything he already knew about the mythical town of Macondo and the Buendía family to create the perfect culmination of his universe.

One Hundred Years of Solitude is one of those novels that can be unsettling or captivating, but what's clear is that it marked an era. It is considered a masterpiece of Hispanic American and universal literature and was key to Gabriel García Márquez winning the Nobel Prize in Literature. In short, it is one of the most important works in the Spanish language of the 20th century.

If you want to tackle this wonderful novel but have doubts, we recommend that you start at the beginning, that is, with Leaf Storm. This way, little by little, you will get to know Gabo's writing style and the world of Macondo.

During the journey, José Arcadio dreams of a city of mirrors called Macondo and decides to found it in that very place. There, the Buendía family will experience all kinds of events over the course of a century.
