You will eat flowers

You will eat flowers

Our review

We approached "You Will Eat Flowers" out of curiosity, due to the impressive success a novel by a novice author was having among readers. And it hooked us so much that we finished it in just a couple of days.

This novel is one of those that lingers in your mind long after you've closed it. Lucía Solla Sobral dismantles fairy tales and the myth of romantic love with brutal rawness, yet wrapped in a warm and addictive prose.

It's a book that suffocates at times, but that ultimately becomes deeply healing. If you've ever felt small next to someone or if you need to understand why we sometimes stay where we are hurt, this book is an absolutely necessary hug (and a slap of reality).

A perfect read to question ourselves and heal, which we recommend with our eyes closed.

🏆 EL OJO CRÍTICO NARRATIVE AWARD AND CÁLAMO AWARD FOR BEST BOOK OF THE YEAR.

Synopsis

Marina is a 25-year-old woman who has just lost her father. Trapped in unresolved grief, a monotonous job, and a feeling of total apathy, she meets Jaime, a charismatic businessman twenty years her senior. Suddenly, he showers her with attention, plans, and a supposed stability that seems like salvation to Marina. Little by little, what begins as an absorbing love story transforms into a web of silent control.
