Corsairs of Levante (The Adventures of Captain Alatriste 6) (Ages 14+)

Corsairs of Levante (The Adventures of Captain Alatriste 6) (Ages 14+)

Our review

In Corsarios de Levante, Pérez-Reverte gives us the novel all sea lovers were waiting for. Here Captain Alatriste exchanges the court's steel for the saltpeter of the Mediterranean, and the result is a thrilling and brutal adventure. We chose it because it is, possibly, the most cinematic and action-packed book in the entire saga. You feel the sun on your face, hear the creak of wood, and smell the gunpowder of cannons. It's a novel to read almost without breathing. Pure escapism and good literature.

“Corsarios de Levante,” published in 2006, is the sixth thrilling adventure of Captain Alatriste. On this occasion, Arturo Pérez-Reverte leaves behind court intrigues and takes us on a galley to sail the Mediterranean Sea, the bloodiest and most forgotten frontier of the Spanish empire.

It is a novel of pure maritime adventures, full of boarding actions, naval battles, and the echo of the oars of the galley slaves.
