Don Quixote of La Mancha

Don Quixote of La Mancha

Our review

We know that many people find this novel difficult to read, not only because of its length but also because of the old Spanish. But we believe it's a matter of practice and making an effort to preserve these original works that provide us with a higher cultural level. It's an adventure novel in which you will feel all kinds of emotions, with a moving ending that will make you love the character forever.

Don't you know our hidalgo Don Quixote yet? It's one of the most important adventure novels in Spanish literature. With great ingenuity, Cervantes mocks chivalric novels and creates a historical character due to his madness and tenderness. Do you know that it's the second most published book in history after the Bible?

This edition... is a faithful version of the original, created on the author's IV Centenary by the Real Academia Española.

Synopsis

Alonso Quijano, or rather, Don Quixote de la Mancha, recruits his neighbor Sancho Panza as a squire to live as a knight-errant, after reading too many chivalric novels. Such is his madness that he imagines things that do not exist, as in the famous episode where he fights windmills believing them to be giants. It is the classic of classics of Spanish literature.

About the Author

Miguel de Cervantes (Alcalá de Henares, 147-1616) had a childhood full of economic ups and downs. His life was a coming and going: he was a soldier in Lepanto, a slave, and a prisoner until he could return to Spain. In 1605, the work that would give him eternal fame was published: El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de la Mancha. Although it was intended to be a mockery of chivalric novels, it became a success that, however, did not make him rich.
