The Glow of the Fireflies (Special glow-in-the-dark edition)

Our review

You know when a book is so well-known that you're scared to read it in case you're disappointed? Well, that didn't happen to us. It took us a while to give it a chance, but we loved it. "The Glow of the Fireflies" is as beautiful as it is terrifying.

The story of a family's forced confinement from the perspective of a child who tells us what he sees without knowing what is really happening.

Plus, this edition has the bonus of being very beautiful. The title on the spine has a special embossment that is a pleasure to touch. When you open it, the painted edges continue the cover illustration, creating an immersive experience. But the real magic happens when you turn off the light: the cover glows in the dark!.

A dark story, confined in a basement, where the only hope is a small light. If you like psychological thrillers that are equally oppressive and captivating, this is your next read.

Synopsis

I'm ten years old and I live in a basement. I live in the dark with my parents, my grandmother, my sister and my brother. Everyone has a burnt face from the fire. Everyone but me, because they won't let me out. They say if I go out, "They" will catch me.

But something has changed in our shadow routine. My sister has become pregnant, even though no one has entered or left here. And I have seen something impossible: a flying light. A firefly. Now I know there is more out there than fear. And I am determined to discover the truth, even if that truth can destroy the only world I know.
