Blackie Books

The Gospel

The Gospel

Our review

Its cover is already striking and conveys its subversive character. It's a book with many interpretations, from which you can learn if you let yourself go. It's not an action book, nor a thriller, nor a romance, nor poetry; it's a book that is difficult to categorize. It is what it is: the story of a girl who has to face her teaching practice in a convent school while being an atheist.

El evangelio is an irreverent book about maladjustment and education. A young student... a declared atheist, will have to do her internship in a religious school and, although at first she is reluctant, she will adore each of the children.

It is an unvarnished social portrait, written with courageous sincerity. If you are drawn to non-fiction with a costumbrist soul, this book is waiting for you. Not suitable for all readers (contains sexual scenes).

Synopsis

Eulalia survives her youth as best she can: with a low-paying job at a pizzeria, studying for a teaching degree, and sleeping with a careless guy. During her internship at a convent school, she will question educational methods, the blows of life that transform children into adults, and the religious context in which she finds herself.
