The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby

Our review

A captivating book that showcases all facets of Fitzgerald: love, appearances, overcoming adversity, money... Almost a reflection of his own life, full of ups and downs. The author himself confessed that he was just a "Hollywood hack," yet his stories go much further. In this story, F. Scott Fitzgerald shows us that he was a magnificent writer, but that status and money led him away from his true self.

Every weekend, an imposing mansion hosts parties to which no one has been invited. There, a mysterious man named Gatsby barely speaks, only observes. Not much is known about him, only speculation. Who is he, and where does his money come from?

It's a literary classic you can't miss. Fitzgerald's delicate narrative style turns this novel into a kind of cautionary tale.
