The Book of Illusions

The Book of Illusions

Our review

This was the first book we read by this author, and it was a huge discovery. It's a story to be enjoyed without pressure, simply by letting yourself be carried away by the plot, which is also very well narrated. If you, like us, enjoy discovering different facets of art, we highly recommend it. You won't look at silent black and white films the same way again.

This book is for lovers of good coffee, good books, and black and white movies. The Book of Illusions is not an action story or a thriller; it is simply the journey of a life, teaching you to appreciate the intricacies of silent cinema. It's perfect for slow enjoyment, with no need to rush to the end.

From now on, you'll surely want to discover films by Buster Keaton or Charles Chaplin.

He becomes so interested in him that he decides to write an essay about his work but discovers that the actor disappeared years ago. Until someone contacts him to tell him that Mann is still alive and wants to meet him. He has been making films ever since, but only for the pleasure of making them. They will never see the light of day.
