The prophet

The prophet

Our review

"The Prophet" has been a revolution in Spain. Zavala has managed to bring the figure of Jesus of Nazareth closer to thousands of people, some of whom have converted to Christianity as a result. The author manages to take us down from the densest theological texts to offer us a novel with which we can feel identified.

It is a book that reads with the agility and rhythm of the best historical fiction, but backed by deep research. The story immerses you in the dust of the roads of Galilee, in the political tension of Jerusalem, and in the most palpable humanity of its protagonists. The cover, with its striking silhouette against the light, already warns us that we will find light and shadows, betrayals and hope.

It is an ideal recommendation for both lovers of pure historical novels and for those who seek to rediscover the life of the man who split history in two from a narrative and exciting perspective.

Synopsis

More than two thousand years after his death, the life of Jesus of Nazareth continues to fascinate the entire world. In "The Prophet," acclaimed author José María Zavala invites us to travel back in time to walk alongside the carpenter of Galilee.

Through an agile and moving narrative, the novel covers the most transcendent episodes of his life: from his miracles and preachings that challenged the religious and political authorities of the time, to the deep intimacy of his last days, the betrayal, and the Passion. A work that combines historical rigor with the pulse of a great novel to bring us closer, as never before, to the human and divine figure of Jesus.
