The Hound of the Baskervilles (ages 12+)

The Hound of the Baskervilles (ages 12+)

Our review

Sherlock Holmes, literature's most famous detective, faces a uniquely disturbing case: the threat of an infernal hound that, according to legend, haunts the Baskerville family, of whom barely an heir remains.

What is fascinating about this work is how it combines Holmes' keen intellect with an atmosphere of terror and mystery that makes one's nerves tingle. Undoubtedly, it is among Conan Doyle's most outstanding titles, and for this reason, we have chosen it for our bookstore.

Feel the chilling howls of the Hound of the Baskervilles!

💡DROJANIAN TIP: This edition is ideal for younger readers, as it includes the meaning of some less recognizable words in the margin. This makes reading easier and more fluid.

Synopsis

A diabolical beast. A family curse. A desolate moor. This is the strangest and most terrifying case Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson have ever faced.

When Sir Henry, the last heir of the Baskervilles, arrives to claim his inheritance, a shadow in the form of a giant hound threatens his life. Holmes must venture into a world of superstition and fog to discover if the killer is flesh and blood... or something much worse.

About the author

Arthur Conan Doyle (Scotland, 1859-1930) was a physician who became a literary legend thanks to his incredible creation: the detective Sherlock Holmes. Although he wrote many adventure stories, Holmes' intelligence and logic made him famous worldwide. The most curious thing is that, while his character solved crimes using only reason, Conan Doyle was a firm believer in ghosts and spiritualism.
