The Metamorphosis (Illustrated) (14+)

The Metamorphosis (Illustrated) (14+)

Our review

It's a short novel that can be read in just a few hours; however, its premise is so fascinating that you can't put it down. One of the things we like most is that it makes you reflect on many topics, so it's ideal for sharing this read.

The edition brought to us by Nórdica is a marvel. We love that it's hardcover, so it will last a long time, and on top of that, it has black and white illustrations that give an additional touch to the story.

What would happen if one day you wake up and discover you've turned into a bug? Yes, an insect with legs and a shell. Suddenly, you can't speak, and your family flees. That's what happens in this thrilling short novel.

Without a doubt, a read that no one should miss. One of those novels that you have to read at least once in your life.

Synopsis

Gregor Samsa is a traveling salesman, and his efforts have supported his family. But that enthusiasm is shattered when he discovers that overnight a metamorphosis has occurred in his body: he has turned into a giant insect.

About the Author

Franz Kafka (Prague, 1883 - Austria, 1924) was born into a Jewish family. He earned a doctorate in law to please his father, but his true passion was always literature. He worked all his life in jobs that had nothing to do with writing. In 1915, he published what is now his most famous book, "The Metamorphosis," although he never achieved enough success in his lifetime to stop working. He died of tuberculosis at 40, but he never stopped writing.
