Temperance

Temperance

Our review

It is a book written with a magnificent sensibility. María Dueñas describes like no other the settings through which we walk with the protagonists, she seems to take us by the hand. It makes you travel, dream and delight; you can almost feel the wind on your face and the wine on your lips.

La templanza is a journey through the 19th century, from Mexico to Cuba and Spain, where wine, people, and culture take on special importance. Although the cover might suggest a romantic novel, it is not. You will like it if you are a fan of stories like those of Isabel Allende, Ken Follett, or Arturo Pérez Reverte.

If you are simply looking for a well-written historical novel to let yourself go, you won't regret it.

About the Author

María Dueñas (Puertollano, 1964) studied English Philology and was a professor at the University of Murcia. In 2009, she published her first work, El tiempo entre costuras, an unprecedented success that revolutionized her life. One of the things we like most about María is that she is not in a hurry: she publishes a novel when she has something interesting to tell. She currently has only 5 books, but of very high quality.
