The Wind's Voice

The Wind's Voice

Our review

"The Voice of the Wind" is the new literary venture by writers José Gil Romero and Goretti Irisarri, a blend of historical and romance novel, with an ending that left us impressed.

It takes us to Madrid, in the year 1886, to an event so surprising it seems unbelievable, but it's not (it really happened): a tornado that devastated the streets of the Spanish capital, leaving the place unrecognizable. Lucrecia, the protagonist, will face two storms: the meteorological one and the storm of love.

The truth is that we, Los Drojan, are not big fans of romance novels. However, we really liked this book, because it doesn't get too sentimental and because the writing style of these authors makes everything easier. We won't lie to you: there was a tense moment near the end of the novel where we thought it was going to be too much cheesiness for us, but the ending left us completely enamored. An absolute recommendation! In addition, we must say, it has some nods to fantasy literature that convinces us.

Synopsis

In 1886, Lucrecia leaves her Galician village to reunite with a husband she barely knows, but her arrival in Madrid coincides with a tornado that reduces the city to rubble. Trapped between chaos and destruction, she must trust Enrique, her husband's foreman, to survive. Together they will embark on a dangerous journey through a capital in ruins, where secrets and desire intertwine with despair. Amidst the tragedy, between fear and hope, a love as unexpected and powerful as the storm that pursues them will be born.
