Good evening

Good evening

Our Review

How long has it been since you last had a good night's sleep? A truly good one. The kind where you're so exhausted you don't even know who you are until the next day.

Isaac Rosa has written the book that all of us who live with our engines running 24/7 needed. Forget your typical love or heartbreak story; this is about something much more intimate and desperate: sharing insomnia. Two strangers meet in the early hours, not for sex, but to attempt the most difficult and revolutionary act of our time: sleeping.

Reading "Las buenas noches" was like looking into an uncomfortable mirror. Rosa has that almost annoying ability to put his finger on the pulse of our daily problems (stress, precarity, the inability to disconnect) and turn them into a gripping plot. It's not an essay on sleep; it's a novel about why we're all so awake when we should be dreaming.

Be warned: you're going to identify with it. Perhaps too much.

Synopsis

A man and a woman meet in a hotel bar in the early hours of the morning. They are not looking for an adventure; they are looking for a cure for their insomnia. Both suffer from corrosive sleep deprivation that has destroyed their routines and relationships. Against all odds, they discover that the only way to quiet their minds is by sleeping (literally) next to each other.
