The cross-eyed sun

The cross-eyed sun

Our Review

Sometimes, you come across a book that breaks all the molds and reminds you why you love science fiction. Los ojos bizcos del sol is one of those works. Emilio Bueso doesn't follow the rules; he creates his own wild, hallucinatory universe that is both violent and strangely poetic. We chose it because it's a display of narrative power and one of the most original works we've read in a long time. It's unapologetic genre literature of immense quality.

This trilogy, collected in a single volume, blends science fiction and touches of fantasy, with talking mitts, super-powered snails, and a world full of enemies. It's ideal for those who love science fiction and also for those who want to delve into the genre.

If you've read Dune, Lovecraft, or Brandon Sanderson, Los ojos bizcos del sol is for you.

Synopsis

This book is composed of three novels: Transcrepuscular, Antisolar, and Subsolar. We will follow the Marshal, a samurai warrior, on his journey through the Twilight Circle. He will then move on to Antisolar, a dark and cold place inhabited by robotic species, and finally to Subsolar, a world in flames where he will meet a gunslinger named Duplo Jack. They will be joined by charismatic characters such as Trapo, a talking glove with a rather twisted sense of humor.
