Despite the controversy, it is not an easy text to read. We expected to find a book for all audiences, but that was far from the truth. It is a cultured narrative, where it is easy to get lost without prior knowledge of Indian and Muslim culture. Even so, if you manage to overcome that barrier, it is a text that provides you with great knowledge while entertaining you.
The Satanic Verses is one of the most controversial books in modern history due to its religious component. A metaphor for good and evil, with fantastic and philosophical touches. It is a novel that makes you question many things, something common in Rushdie's literature.
Ideal if you are an expert reader who enjoys magical realism.

Synopsis
Gibreel Farishta, a famous Indian actor, and Saladin Chamcha, known for voicing a thousand different characters, board a plane bound for London. It is hijacked and eventually explodes. They are the only survivors of the massacre, but their miraculous salvation has unexpected and transformative consequences.
About the Author
Salman Rushdie (Bombay, 1947) moved to London at a young age, where he would obtain citizenship. His works are not without controversy due to his social, political, and religious ideas, as in the famous case of The Satanic Verses, for which he was threatened with death by Ayatollah Khomeini. In 2022, he suffered an attack that almost ended his life. Even so, he has survived and continues his literary career.

Todo llegó en perfectas condiciones y a su tiempo. Son muy cuidadosos con el empaquetado y tienen sus detalles (me gustaron los dijes de llaves que llevaban en el envoltorio).
