Foundation Trilogy Box Set (Ages 14+)

Foundation Trilogy Box Set (Ages 14+)

Our Review

To speak of Asimov's Foundation is to speak of the genetics of science fiction. As booksellers, we always warn of the same thing: don't expect a novel of spaceships and laser blasts. What you have in your hands is a galactic historical epic where the true protagonist is "Psychohistory."

Asimov achieves something almost impossible: making sociology and mathematics more exciting than any epic battle. Reading this trilogy is like witnessing the rise and fall of empires, narrated with a clarity that, decades later, still seems visionary.

We believe that the boxed set edition is one of the best value-for-money options on the market. The translation is carefully done, and the minimalist design of the covers perfectly captures the geometric and rational essence of Asimov's work. Furthermore, the books are manageable yet hardcover.

It is an absolute must-have. If you haven't read Foundation, you don't yet know the limits of human imagination applied to the destiny of our species.

🏆 HUGO AWARD FOR "BEST SERIES OF ALL TIME" (1966)

💡 DROJANIAN TIP: Don't get overwhelmed by the number of characters that appear and disappear over the centuries. The true common thread is the Seldon Plan. Let yourself be carried away by the flow of history and enjoy the temporal jumps; each piece eventually fits together with mathematical precision.

Synopsis

In a remote future, the Galactic Empire is dying. After millennia of splendor, decline is inevitable, but only one man can see it: the mathematician Hari Seldon. Through psychohistory, a science that predicts mass behavior, Seldon foresees thirty thousand years of barbarism before a new empire emerges. To shorten this period of darkness to just a millennium, he establishes the "Foundation" on a remote planet at the galaxy's edge.

About the Author

Isaac Asimov (1920–1992) was a Russian-born American biochemist and writer, considered one of the "Big Three" of science fiction along with Clarke and Heinlein. Prolific to the point of exhaustion, he published over 500 volumes. His most enduring legacy is the Three Laws of Robotics and, of course, the Foundation Cycle, which earned him unique recognition in the history of the genre.
