Blackwater I: The Flood

Blackwater I: The Flood

Our review

Let's talk about the format first. The covers are incredibly well-crafted and the small size is reminiscent of old serialized novels. An extra touch that creates a very positive impression for reading. As for the content, although it is cataloged as horror, the first books mainly focus on village life and its characters, with touches of suspense and mystery. It strongly reminds us of Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth.

Blackwater is a six-book suspense series. Its compact size invites you to immerse yourself in a plot where the characters share a town marked by a hidden mystery in the river's waters. If you like Stephen King's narratives and Ken Follett's complex characters, you'll enjoy it.

💡 DROJANIAN TIP: These are great books as an interlude. If you're experiencing reader's block or want a break from more intense titles, they're a good opportunity to relax. Don't worry about the ending! (you might be disappointed). You can read the series in 6 months, with patience and enjoyment.
