DEBOLSILLO

Chronicle of a Death Foretold

Chronicle of a Death Foretold

Our review

This novel surprised and entertained us greatly, especially when everyone knew Santiago Nasar was going to be killed except Santiago himself. Gabo's style makes for a very pleasant and engaging read; we never grew tired of advancing. The touch of magical realism allows your imagination to soar.

This is a novel filled with magical realism, humor, and rhetoric. Gabriel García Márquez never disappoints, much less in one of his early novels, where the story that would earn him the Nobel Prize in Literature, One Hundred Years of Solitude, began to take shape.

If you want to start enjoying Gabriel García Márquez's writing, we recommend starting with these titles, as they begin to forge the character and form of his masterpiece.
