The Hound of the Baskervilles (with explanatory introduction) (12+ years)

Our Review

Literature's most famous detective, Sherlock Holmes, faces a new case, but this time it's one of high gravity and a supernatural nature. Legend has it that a demonic hound looms over the fate of the Baskerville family, of whom only one descendant remains alive.

One of the things we liked most about this novel is that it mixes the best of Holmes' adventures with an atmosphere of terror and mystery that leaves you trembling. It is, without a doubt, one of Conan Doyle's best books. That is why we have selected it for our bookstore.

Hear the terrifying howls of the Hound of the Baskervilles!

Additionally, we bring you an academic edition so you can learn all the details of such a memorable work of literature.

Synopsis

On the desolate moors of Devonshire, an ancient curse haunts the Baskerville family: that of an infernal, gigantic hound with flaming eyes, which hunts the heirs of the lineage. After the mysterious death of Sir Charles Baskerville, the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes and his faithful companion, Dr. Watson, are hired to protect the new lord of the mansion.

Holmes must use all his logic and power of deduction to unravel a mystery where superstition and ancient terror threaten to devour reason.

About the Author

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Edinburgh, 1859 - England, 1930) was a Scottish doctor and writer who went down in history for creating one of the most iconic characters of all time: the detective Sherlock Holmes. Ironically, in real life, Conan Doyle was a devout believer in spiritualism and the paranormal, a fascinating contradiction that shows the complexity of the man who invented the world's most rational detective.
