To Kill a Mockingbird (14+)

To Kill a Mockingbird (14+)

Our review

It might give the impression of being a complicated and boring book, but nothing could be further from the truth. The first-person narration of a young girl makes the story gripping from the very first minute. This perspective gives you the opportunity to grow with the protagonist and discover the social problems of the place.

"To kill a mockingbird is a sin." Why destroy the beauty of this small animal? This is the metaphorical backdrop of this novel, filled with racism and social injustice during the Great Depression in 1930s America. The author places us in her hometown and reveals many events she experienced, all through the eyes of an innocent and intelligent six-year-old girl.

Without a doubt, it's a book that everyone should read at least once in their life, especially if you like social and reflective novels. I assure you, it will surprise you!

About the Author

Harper Lee (Alabama, 1926-2016) worked for an airline until she was able to live off the royalties of her acclaimed novel "To Kill a Mockingbird", for which she won the Pulitzer Prize. After its unexpected success, she withdrew from public life and published nothing else until 2015, a year before her death. She grew up alongside Truman Capote, another great writer of the era.
