Our review

We highly recommend this book, not only because it is very well written and for its original style, but also because it is a story that makes you reflect on the world we live in. Aramburu's writing is unmissable, perfectly recounting Basque customs. We love it when characters take on a real form, speaking with their own style.

If you like historical fiction and costumbrismo, Patria is the perfect blend. The town is plunged into darkness when one of its most beloved inhabitants is murdered by ETA, an organization to which some neighbors' children belong. It is a struggle in which there are no winners. Here there is no politics, no ideology, only life itself.

Although it is a sad book, there are glimmers of hope.
